§ 1-455. Membership.

  • The authority shall be composed of nine (9) members. One (1) of such members shall be a trustee, director, officer, or employee of an institution for higher education if there be such an institution located in the County. The Board shall appoint, for terms of five (5) years each, a member or members to the authority. Each member should serve until his or her successor is appointed. The Board shall fill any vacancy for an unexpired term. A member of the authority shall be eligible for reappointment. Any member of the authority may be removed by the Board for misfeasance, malfeasance, or willful neglect of duty. Each member of the authority, before entering upon his or her duties, shall take and subscribe the oath or affirmation required by the state constitution. A record of each such oath shall be filed in the office of the department of state and with the clerk. A member shall receive no compensation for his or her services, but shall be entitled to necessary expenses incurred while engaged in the performance of such duties.
