  • (a)

    No employer or any other person shall take any adverse action against an employee because the employee has exercised, in good faith, the rights protected under this chapter. An adverse action means an action that would discourage a reasonable employee from making or supporting a complaint for nonpayment of earned wages, such as discharging, demoting, or suspending the employee because the employee exercised the rights protected under this chapter.

    (b)

    Any employee subjected to retaliation by an employer because the employee exercised rights protected under this chapter may pursue an action in a court of competent jurisdiction against the employer for any applicable whistleblower law violations.
