§ 20-176.5. Adoption by reference of certain statutes.

    All statutes of the State of Florida and rules adopted thereunder defining and prohibiting false advertising and offenses relating to consumer protection, trade standards, and weights and measures, defined by state law, are adopted and incorporated by reference as part of the Broward County Consumer Protection Code to the same extent and the same effect as if the provisions of each such statute were set out in full herein, defining and prohibiting each such offense against the state to be prohibited by or an offense in violation of this division. This shall include but is not limited to Chapter 501, pt. II, F.S. (§ 501.201, F.S. et seq.), Chapter 559, pt. IX, F.S. (§ 559.901, F.S. et seq.), and all rules adopted pursuant thereto. Chpaters 817, 542, 516, and 83, F.S., as amended from time to time, are hereby adopted by reference.

    All laws of the United States and rules adopted thereunder defining and prohibiting false advertising and offenses relating to consumer protection, trade standards, and weights and measures, defined by federal law, are adopted and incorporated by reference as part of the Broward County Consumer Protection Code to the same extent and the same effect as if the provisions of each such law were set out in full herein, defining and prohibiting each such offense against the federal government to be prohibited by, or an offense in violation of this division. This shall include but is not limited to 15 U.S.C. 45(a)(1), and all rules adopted by the Federal Trade Commission pursuant thereto.
