§ 27-231. Declaration of intent.

Latest version.
  • The Broward County Board of County Commissioners finds and declares that excessive sound, or noise, adversely impacts the public health, and quality of life; that a substantial body of science and technology exists by which excessive sound may be substantially abated; and that people have a right to and should be ensured an environment free from excessive sound that may jeopardize their health, or degrade the quality of life. Therefore, it is the policy of the Board to prevent excessive sound which may jeopardize the health of the citizens of Broward County or degrade the quality of life. The Board recognizes that other federal, state, municipal, county and law enforcement agencies have adopted rules for the regulation of excessive sound. These rules may be different than Article VII, Noise, and are administered by the applicable governing body.
