§ 29-3. Transportation of reassigned pupils; assessment and collection of fees authorized.

  • (a)

    The board of public instruction of Broward County may provide transportation for pupils living more than two (2) miles from the public school to which pupils have been legally reassigned after filing application for transfer from their assigned schools, and assess the parents of such pupils legally enrolled in the schools to which they have been reassigned an amount determined by the board of public instruction. The amount assessed shall be uniform and shall not be less than the average cost of transportation of pupils to the public schools of the county.

    (b)

    The Broward County Board of Public Instruction shall have and reserve the right to limit, expand or discontinue such service and make legal collection of the fees for such service. Provided, that no minimum foundation transportation funds shall be paid for any student who resides within two (2) miles of the school to which such student is assigned.
