§ 30-501. District created and boundaries established.

  • To promote equitable control, orderly and quality use and development of the land within the district and to meet the intent of the legislature to best serve the welfare and convenience of the public and to meet the interest of the public and quality development consistent with local, regional and state planning and policy and to insure that the burden and risk of development be only on the developers and any bond investors pursuant to any herein authorized financing, a special tax district in Broward County, Florida, to be known as West Parkland Water Management District is hereby created and established and made a body corporate and political subdivision of the State of Florida with perpetual succession as limited by further provision of this article and with legal existence only to carry out those purposes, functions, powers and duties specifically set forth by further provision of this article.

    The lands to be included are described as: Tracts 1 through 32, inclusive, less the north 40 feet of Tracts 1, 9 and 16; all in Section 31, Township 47 South, Range 41 East, according to the plat of Florida Fruit Lands Company S-D No. 2 as recorded in plat book 1, page 102, Palm Beach County, Florida, public records and also the north one-half of Section 6, Township 48 South, Range 41 East, Broward County, Florida. All of Section 4, Township 48 South, Range 41 East, Broward County, Florida, less the following described parcel of land in said section 4: That triangular tract of land in the east half of Section 4, Township 48 South, Range 41 East, as described in official records book 55, page 500 of the public records of Broward County, Florida; all of Section 32, Township 47 South, Range 41 East, Broward County, Florida; all of the above land according to the plat of Florida Fruit Lands Company S-D No. 2, plat book 1, page 102, Palm Beach County, Florida, public records and also Tracts 1 through 16 inclusive and Tracts 25 through 32, inclusive; all in Section 5, Township 48 South, Range 41 East according to the plat of Florida Fruit Lands Company S-D No. 2, plat book 1, page 102, Palm Beach County, Florida, public records; and also Tracts 1 through 21, inclusive, Tracts 23 through 25, inclusive, and Tracts 27 through 32, inclusive; all in Section 33, Township 47 South, Range 41 East, according to the plat of Florida Fruit Lands Company S-D No. 2, as recorded in plat book 1, page 102, Palm Beach County, Florida, public records and also Tracts 12, 17 and 18, Tracts 20 through 32, inclusive; all in Section 33, Township 48 South, Range 41 East, according to the plat of Florida Fruit Lands Company S-D No. 2, as recorded in plat book 1, page 102, Palm Beach County, Florida, public records. All of said lands described above being located in Broward County, Florida, and containing approximately 3,957 acres.
