§ 4-9. Unwanted dogs or cats.

  • Owners of an unwanted dog or cat may bring such dog or cat to a designated County animal shelter facility and, with proof of ownership and payment of the appropriate fee, if applicable, as established by resolution, release the dog or cat to the Division. The fee will be charged to any owner that is surrendering an unwanted dog or cat and is not a resident of Broward. At the discretion of the Division, said dog or cat may be made available for adoption or humanely euthanized in accordance with Chapter 828, Florida Statutes.
