§ 9-43. Organization, meetings and quorum.
(a)
Each board shall elect a chair and vice-chair and such other officers from among its members as it may deem necessary for the operation of the board. Each officer shall be elected by a majority vote of the full board for a term of one (1) year. Elections for new officers shall be held in November of each year. All officers shall take office on the date of election.
(b)
The Broward County Administrator shall supply each board with clerical assistance and office space.
(c)
Each board shall meet a minimum of eight (8) times a year, except that the Central Examining Board of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Contractors shall meet a minimum of four (4) times a year. In the event that any person requests to be heard by the Central Examining Board of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Contractors on any matter, other than a complaint of a violation of Chapter 9, as amended, the Central Examining Board of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Contractors shall meet to consider such matter no later than thirty (30) days after receipt of the request to be heard from the applicant. A majority of the appointed members of a board shall constitute a quorum at any meeting. A majority vote of those present and voting shall be required to make any decision unless otherwise provided in this chapter.
(d)
Meetings may be called by the chair or the vice-chair or, in the chair's absence, by any two (2) members of the board.
(e)
The minutes of board meetings shall be public records, except as otherwise provided by law.
