§ 9-111. Scope of regulation.

  • (a)

    The Broward County Central Examining Board of Liquefied Petroleum Gas ("LPG") Contractors shall be responsible for examining, certifying, and regulating all persons and business organizations within Broward County, Florida, that engage in, or that intend or desire to engage in, any work or activity which relates to, is referred to, or which is defined as a liquefied petroleum gas system by this chapter, or that furnish, deliver, or sell liquefied petroleum gas to a consumer for heat, light, or power.

    (b)

    The board shall have and exercise all the powers and authority provided in this chapter to examine, certify, and regulate all persons and business organizations within Broward County, Florida, that engage in, or that intend or desire to engage in, any work or activity which relates to, is referred to, or which is defined as a liquefied petroleum gas system by this chapter, or that furnish, deliver, or sell liquefied petroleum gas to a consumer for heat, light, or power.

    (c)

    All persons and business organizations which are not exempted from certification by Section 9-26 of this chapter and which engage in, or which intend or desire to engage in, any work or activity which relates to, is referred to, or which is defined as a liquefied petroleum gas system by this chapter, or that furnish, deliver, or sell liquefied petroleum gas to a consumer for heat, light, or power, shall, prior to engaging in any such work or activity, obtain a certificate of competency from the board.
