§ 1-267. Visitors' log.

  • (a)

    Each person who visits a County office building to discuss County business shall, prior to such discussion, legibly complete the visitors' log maintained in the reception area of the office where the discussion is to occur. The log entry shall provide:

    (1)

    The visitor's name;

    (2)

    The name of each principal (client), if any, represented by the visitor in connection with the discussion;

    (3)

    The name of each County Commissioner, County employee, or County board member whom the visitor has arranged to participate in the discussion; and

    (4)

    The specific item(s) of County business to be discussed.

    (b)

    Each visitors' log shall be maintained and made available for public inspection, consistent with public records requirements.

    (c)

    The requirements of this section shall not apply to discussions that do not involve County business, confidential communications such as counseling, or discussions that are timely disclosed by registered lobbyists pursuant to their disclosure obligations under Section 1-19(c)(3), 26-73(b), or 26-70.2 of this Code.

Ord. No. 2017-18 , § 6, adopted May 23, 2017, repealed the former § 1-267 and enacted a new § 1-268 as set out herein. The former § 1-267 pertained to registration of contacts and derived from Ord. No. 2001-15, § 9, adopted May 8, 2001.
