§ 20-524. Safety of public.

  • (a)

    Operator's work performance, equipment and job sites shall be in compliance with all applicable County, state and federal requirements and shall conform to the provisions of the Broward County Minimum Standards. An Operator's work, while in progress, shall be properly protected at all times with suitable barricades, flags, lights, flares, or other devices as are required by an approved Maintenance of Traffic Plan based upon the United States Department of Transportation's Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), latest edition, or any requirements of the Broward County Public Works Department to protect all members of the public having occasion to use the portion of the streets involved or adjacent property.

    (b)

    Operator shall at all times employ due care and shall install, maintain and use commonly accepted methods and devices for preventing failures and accidents which are likely to cause damage, injuries or nuisances to the public. All structures and all lines, equipment and connections in, over, under and upon the streets of the County wherever situated or located shall at all times be kept and maintained in a safe, suitable, substantial condition, and in good order and repair.
