§ 26-84. Grant employees integrated into classified civil service.

All county grant positions and their incumbents shall be integrated into the classified civil service as of July 5, 1992, subject to the exclusions pursuant to section 26-83 of this chapter, and the incumbents shall be continued in their respective positions until separated from their positions as provided by this chapter or the civil service rules and regulations. Those county grant employees holding their positions less than six (6) months immediately prior to July 5, 1992, shall complete the probationary period as prescribed by the personnel policies, but shall not be required to take an examination for the classification they occupy. Time already spent in their current position shall be credited toward completion of the probationary period. All incumbents other than those excluded pursuant to section 26-83 of this chapter shall be considered to have been in the classified civil service during the time of their incumbency in the grant position.
