§ 3½-9. EMS Review Committee.

(a)

The EMS Review Committee is a standing committee established by the EMS Council to review (i) new and renewal applications for certificates of public convenience and necessity and licenses for the provision of nonemergency medical transportation services as provided for herein and (ii) any violations of this chapter or any rules promulgated hereunder, by any EMS provider or nonemergency medical transportation service provider operating in Broward County other than violations by any BLS transport provider.

(b)

The committee shall be composed of the following from the membership of the EMS Council:

(1)

A representative from the Broward County Sheriff's Office, Fire Rescue Department.

(2)

A representative from a municipal EMS service.

(3)

A representative from a non-fire based ambulance service.

(4)

A hospital emergency room physician or staff person.

(5)

A private citizen/consumer.

(6)

Any two (2) other members of the EMS Council.

(c)

A quorum for the Review Committee shall be four (4) members.
