Latest version.
  • The findings set forth in the preambles to this Ordinance are hereby approved and confirmed. In addition, the Board of County Commissioners hereby makes the following legislative findings of special benefit:

    (1)

The services of fire protection and emergency medical services have been combined to create one integrated service, now referred to as "Fire Rescue Services," for the benefit of all citizens of the unincorporated areas of Broward County; and

    (2)

The creation of the municipal service taxing subunit for Fire Rescue Services will improve the quality of Fire Rescue Services provided to the assessed property and intended occupants of those assessed properties within the subunit; and

    (3)

The fire rescue services and related facilities possess a logical relationship to the use and enjoyment of the assessed properties by protecting the property, life, health, and safety of the intended occupants in the use and enjoyment of improvements and structures located within the assessed property; and

    (4)

Fire Rescue Services and supporting facilities will provide for fire protection and emergency medical services that will enhance the health, safety and welfare of assessed properties by the delivery of reliable and effective services to persons who own or use such assessed property, which may result in the enrichment of property value and the minimization of potential liability attendant with the use of the assessed property.
