§ 30-500.3. Creation—Municipal service taxing subunit for fire rescue services.

There is hereby created a Municipal Service Taxing Subunit for Fire Rescue Services and facilities, as authorized by Chapter 30, Article XII, Section 30-454 of the Broward County Code of Ordinances, within the designated area as described herein, hereinafter referred to as "Subunit." The Board of County Commissioners of Broward County, Florida, shall be the governing board of the Subunit. It is the present intent, but not the obligation, of the County at the time of adoption of this Ordinance to levy an ad valorem tax and/or sufficient special assessments within the Subunit for Fire Rescue Services commencing October 1, 2000. In the interim, the County shall provide such Fire Rescue Services in its existing service areas as is currently provided.
