§ 9-11. Renewal of certificates by municipalities and Broward County.

(a)

No municipality in Broward County shall issue a certificate of competency to any person in any trade or occupation regulated by this chapter or the board; provided, however, that a municipality may renew a certificate of competency in the category or class for which a certificate was issued by said municipality between October 1, 1975, and November 2, 1976.

(b)

Broward County shall not issue a certificate of competency to any person to work only in the unincorporated area of the County in any trade or occupation regulated by this chapter or the board; provided, however, that the director of the Broward County Permitting, Licensing and Consumer Protection Division, or successor agency, may renew a certificate of competency in the category or class for which a certificate was issued by the County between October 1, 1975, and November 2, 1976.
