§ 9-9. Apprenticeship certification.

  • (a)

    An individual enrolled in an apprenticeship program registered with the Department of Education of the state of Florida, or its successor agency, may be permitted by the board to apply for certification and take the examination in the category or class in which the individual is indentured; provided, however, that the apprentice has successfully completed seventy-five (75) per cent of the on-the-job training and education requirements and is recommended for certification by the apprenticeship or training committee sponsoring said program.

    (b)

    If an apprentice successfully passes the examination for certification, the board shall not issue a certificate of competency until such time as the apprentice has successfully satisfied the requirements of said apprenticeship program.
