§ 35-3. Acquisition of lands; installation of facilities.
The board of commissioners of each such water conservation district shall have, and is hereby given, authority to acquire, own and hold by gift, donation, purchase or condemnation such lands as may be necessary or required for the establishment of water conservation areas within such district, and for the installation of ditches, canals, dams, locks, pumping stations and other facilities. Each such board of commissioners shall have power and authority to construct, install and equip such facilities, including, but not limited to, dams, locks, ditches, canals, wells, pipelines, pumps, pumping stations, reservoirs, tanks, and standpipes, and to purchase, own, hold and dispose of such machines, machinery and equipment as may be necessary or required for, or in connection with the establishment, installation and operation of such water conservation plans and measures as may be adopted by such board for each water conservation district. Acquisition by condemnation of lands or interests or easements therein or thereon shall be in accordance with Chapter 73, F.S. Right to possession by the condemner upon filing of declaration of taking shall be in accordance with Chapter 74, F.S.
