§ 9-24. Fees.
(a)
The board shall adopt such reasonable fees as it may deem appropriate to be paid by all persons applying for or renewing a certificate of competency.
(b)
The board may adopt and charge such other reasonable fees as it may deem necessary to offset or cover the costs of the board, including administrative staff to be provided by the County Administrator.
(c)
Neither Broward County, nor any municipality located therein, shall adopt or charge any fee or adopt any ordinance or resolution providing for a fee or sum of money to be paid as a condition precedent for any person to work at or conduct business in a trade of occupation regulated by this chapter. This section shall not be construed to exempt any person from the payment of fees established by the board, business taxes, as provided by general law, or building permit fees.
